I launched my DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera lessons in December 2008, having been asked by several of my clients whether I could help them to use their camera's better. I gave a test lesson to a client of mine and then a few friends and gave my first official lesson in January 2009. Since then I have taught just over 40 students! All of them told me they thoroughly enjoyed the lesson and have gone on to excel in their favourite hobby. I have had a ball along the way and loved teaching everyone what I am seriously passionate about. In Spring 2009 I was approached by "Digital Photographer Magazine" to give a lesson to a reader and have that reader review me. Nick was chosen as the student for the review and we met in Regents Park, Camden. We were lucky to have an amazingly glorious spring day and the flowers were in full bloom. I was certainly nervous at first as the journalist Josie was watching my every move and assessing me, but I soon forgot she was there and had a great time with Nick teaching him how to confidently use his camera and doing a few silly long exposure shots too - it's important not to take it too seriously! Nick gave me a great review and also emailed me afterwards to thank me personally. I was very chuffed. You can see the full article here: Digital Photographer Magazine Here is what some of my other students have said: "Susie is great company and an excellent teacher, explaining technicalities in a clear and engaging fashion. I started the morning pretty much a total novice but by the end of the lesson I felt very comfortable with depth of field, F-stops, shutter speed and even controlling the manual settings to get the best results. Susie has reignited my interest in photography and I’m looking forward to taking it further". Kathryn McGeary (in the orange top). "Susie's passion for photography created a relaxed and fun environment to learn in, enabling us to clearly understand how to capture creative photos using the different camera settings. Would certainly recommend Susie's practical course to those who want to understand their camera and be more creative. I look forward to booking up my next course". Dave Rogers (in the striped top).
"I speak for both of us in saying that we thoroughly enjoyed your lesson. We became more familiar with our cameras, learned many good new tips, and left feeling considerably more confident! Best part was it being so much fun!" Beth Antonius & Angela James
Beth emailed me later to say "Thanks for a lovely photography session yesterday, was snap happy all of yesterday afternoon."
Images above and below courtisy of Mzia Makharadze who emailed me after the lesson to say: "Thanks for the session, it was extremely helpful and interesting." before attaching a whole load of rather amusing pictures from the morning! "Thank you for the interesting lesson. Impressive. I can certainly recommend your classes". Diana Evans.
